It is recommended for Detroit Diesel engines, including Series 50G and 60G natural gas engines. Mack Trucks and John Deere also recommend this oil for their natural gas engines.

Q8 Mahler G8 SAE 40 is a high-performance gas engine oil. It was designed for high-pressure gas engines (BMEP: 22 Bar or above). It can also be used for gas engines with a lower BMEP.
